Norfolk in World War One Event: Creating a Personal Story

In our posts about our MOOC Study Support Group we’ve been promising you details of our special event to be held in the same week as Remembrance Day 2015 and we can now do this…

Creating a Personal Story: Colman’s Connections

2nd Air Division Memorial Library, Norfolk and Norwich Millennium Library.

Tuesday 10th November, 6.00-7.00pm. Free but booking via Eventbrite is essential

Over the past year or so volunteers and Norwich students have been investigating the First World War history of workers at the Colman’s factory, their roles on the front line, the impact of the war on women, families and workers on the Home Front, and the part Colman’s played in the war effort.

On 10th November representatives from the project, along with library staff will be talking about how the project came about and how using resources held at the Millennium Library can be used to make a name on a piece of paper come to life.

After the short talks there will be the chance to have a close look at resources that can be accessed at the Millennium Library to help round out stories. These will include medical chits, photos, postcards, Carrow Works newsletters and more.
